The brief
The Nyack Field Club wanted a pro shop its members could actually buy from. The obstacle was not the storefront, it was the stock. Running a shop the usual way means guessing sizes, ordering a run of each item up front, paying for all of it before a single sale, and then owning whatever does not move.
What we did
Built the store start to finish, then wired it to a print on demand supplier so nothing has to exist before somebody buys it.
An order comes in, the supplier prints that item and ships it to the member directly. The club never buys inventory, never stores it, and never eats the cost of the sizes nobody picked. Products are split into men’s, women’s and accessories so the catalogue stays navigable as items are added, and the checkout is the standard one people already know rather than something clever.
The site is WordPress and WooCommerce, which in 2022 was the right call for a shop that needed a familiar admin and an established payments and shipping ecosystem behind it.
The result
A working shop with no inventory risk. The club can add a product without committing money to it, and members get their order shipped to them directly.
